Our newest center, Day Early Learning at Howe, opened yesterday in partnership with IPS. We were thrilled to welcome families in for their first day. We hosted an open house last week so members of the public were able to visit the center, take a brief tour and meet Day Early Learning teachers. We cannot wait to watch Day Early Learning at Howe flourish in the years to come!

Lunch & Learn About Family Resource Navigator
Our recent Lunch & Learn focused on the Family Resource Navigator. Family engagement specialist at Chances And Services for Youth, Amy N. Marine, and Kelsey Webb, Senior Manager, Network Initiatives at Early Learning Indiana, revisited their presentation from the Zero to Three Conference last month. The two presented on the Child Care Resource & Referral Network's two-generational approach to assisting families in finding high-quality care and connecting those families with additional child- and adult-serving resources. If you haven’t already, don’t forget to check out the Family Resource Navigator on Brighter Futures Indiana to see low- and no-cost services available to families across the state by an easy zip code search.
Newest Firefly Award Committee Member
Michael Robinson, team lead at Day Early Learning State Government Center, has been invited to join the committee for the Indiana Early Literacy Firefly Award. Michael has been invested in the Indiana Early Literacy Firefly Award for many years. It’s an award given annually to Indiana authors that is decided by young children voting on their favorite book out of five finalists.
Michael has participated with the children in his center every year. We send our congratulations to Michael for accepting this invitation and look forward to watching him become a more integral part of this process!

Earlier this month, Natalie and Marienid from the External Engagement team attended the Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children's Annual Fall Mini-Conference for their northeastern region. This conference gave us an opportunity to continue having conversations with providers about the benefits of using the Early Learning Marketplace. We also had plenty of fun engaging with another exhibitor's animal rescue program, which visits child care providers to educate children about animals and conservation.
