WHAT A DAY! Our fifth annual Day of Impact on Friday, Sept. 22 was one for the record books. We:
Welcomed 92 volunteers who gave 300 volunteer hours
Read books and painted nearly 800 rocks
Created 135 study boxes
Set up 13 free book fairs
Remodeled outdoor play decks and cleaned up landscaping
Received more than $70,000 from generous donors
Each year through Day of Impact, we have the special opportunity to raise awareness and visibility for the exceptional, high-quality work we do by introducing our amazing Day Early Learning (DEL) centers to the community. For many of our corporate volunteers this year, experiencing the DEL difference was new to them. Through warm welcomes, initiatives that enrich our learning spaces, and the joy-filled faces of children, we provided our supporters and volunteers with a truly meaningful experience, the DEL way. Thank you to everyone who made it possible.
UKG Axiom Transition Update
As of yesterday, Sept. 25, team members who clock in and clock out via the UKG mobile app should be using the new UKG Axiom platform on UKG Ready. We are still working on transferring information like approved PTO days, reporting structure, etc., and we thank everyone for their patience as we made the transition Monday. Note that we are no longer using UKG Pro, so please delete that app permanently. You can read the full directions for deleting and reinstalling the app here. If you have any issues, please work with your school leader or contact Neekol Dalton.
Until Monday, Oct. 2, self-service changes are still unavailable (ex: changing your address, phone number or emergency contact; updating your benefits based on a qualified life event; updating direct deposit information; and making a tax adjustment). Beginning Oct. 2, we’ll provide a new UKG web address for completing these tasks, and others, via desktop.
Team Member Engagement Survey Reminder
The Team Member Engagement Survey, powered by Gallup, will close at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2. If you haven't already, please take two minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback is critical to the health and viability of Early Learning Indiana. While you will use your email username (e.g., NeekolD) to log in to the survey, your answers are completely confidential. Thank you for your participation!

ELI ACROSS THE STATE
Building Brighter Futures
Last week, we experienced an exhilarating day at our CCRR Annual Planning Day, dedicated to igniting the flames of enthusiasm for the contract year that awaits us. Through a series of dynamic skill-building sessions, we delved into the realms of writing, change leadership, adeptly managing challenging conversations, and even some spirited improv comedy.
Our partners at OECOSL guided a thought-provoking discussion on their strategic priorities, shedding light on the path ahead. We also took a moment to unveil a comprehensive framework for our CCRRCO endeavors in the year ahead.
Breaking New Ground
Last week, The Villages of Indiana, our Early Head Start partner, broke ground on renovations at the Children's Village. The renovation and expansion will include capital improvements with renovations to the existing kitchen, two new classrooms for 16 infants and an onsite school bus garage. This project comes as a response to the ever-present need for affordable, quality childcare in Indiana and the southwest Indianapolis community. Ashleigh Hoekstra, ELI senior director of operations and Early Head Start, was on site to put one of the first shovels into the ground for this exciting project that Early Head Start partnership dollars will help bring to life.
IndyVolved
Early Learning Indiana recently participated in IndyVolved 2023, presented by AES Indiana and hosted by Indianapolis Indians Charities. Our team joined over 100 other nonprofit and civic groups at Victory Field for the largest civic engagement event in Indiana. We spoke with attendees about Day Early Learning volunteer opportunities and ways they can advance high-quality early care and education in their communities.
TRENDING ACROSS OUR DAY EARLY LEARNING CENTERS
Monarch Marvels
Excitement fluttered through our Adventurers 4 classroom at Day Early Learning Center for Infants and Toddlers as Nicole Rooks introduced our young learners to the enchanting world of monarch caterpillars! Children were able to witness the incredible transformation from tiny larvae to magnificent chrysalises, and just last week, children bid farewell to one of our newfound friends, setting it free to embark on its majestic journey.
