It’s almost here! Our 5th annual Day of Impact is right around the corner. On Friday, Sept. 22, volunteers from supporting sponsors and other friends are joining us to complete special projects in our Day Early Learning centers that will enhance learning environments and help introduce them to the DEL experience. Here are some things to know for the day:
Wear your Day of Impact t-shirt! DEL team members: T-shirts will be delivered to you at your center. Statewide Office team members: we’ll let you know to pick up your shirt at the office when they arrive next week.
Volunteers will be doing more projects in the centers this year, including painting, reading and assembling “study boxes” to be used as part of the learning curriculum throughout the year.
We’ve raised nearly $60,000 from generous donors to support the purchase of educational supplies for our classrooms.
Help us warmly welcome and thank our wonderful volunteers when they arrive.
Team Member Engagement Survey
On Monday, September 18, we’ll launch our new Team Member Engagement Survey, powered by Gallup. This is an opportunity for all team members to provide anonymous feedback about what we’re doing well and what can be improved – there is always something for us to learn and always a way to improve! The survey link will be sent on Monday and will remain open until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2. The “survey code” will be your email username (e.g., JonathanD), and the survey will only take a few minutes to complete. Your feedback is critical to the growth and long-term health and viability of Early Learning Indiana. Thank you in advance for your participation!
Recognizing Our Pillars and ToTaL in Action
Remember to submit your nominations in recognition of team members' outstanding contributions and commitments to their peers, our children and families. The quarterly AMP Pillars and ToTaL Package awards will be announced at the Sept. 26 Town Hall. Also, visit the Early Learning Indiana Brag Board on Microsoft Teams to read all of the recent shout-outs and share a shout-out of your own!
It can be common to seek external validation, but to feel truly happy and fulfilled, we need to cultivate our self-confidence from within. That will empower us to feel fully capable of doing anything that we’ve set our minds to.
Start building your confidence with these Calm resources that you can easily integrate into your daily routine:
In this series led by Tamara Levitt, you’ll find guided meditations to prepare for life’s moments like starting the day, your next big meeting or a crucial performance.
In this Daily Jay session, led by Jay Shetty, he shares a formula to help you reframe rejection.

ELI ACROSS THE STATE
The Future of Hendricks County Workforce Summit
Late last month, Andi and Natalie had the opportunity to attend a working session put on by Hendricks College Network (HCN) and Child Care Answers. The three main focuses and points of discussion for the event were child care, housing and transportation.
Many key decision makers — such as the town council, chamber members and business leaders — attended the event to discuss workforce barriers and challenges within the community.
Early Childhood Educator Certificate Program Launch
Through our collaboration with Butler University, we have created and launched the Early Childhood Educator Certificate Program. This program is an innovative and accessible pathway for individuals seeking to become early childhood educators. It offers comprehensive professional preparation that considers the unique circumstances of the candidates.
The Early Childhood Educator Certificate Program stands out from others like it, as each participant must have a Cooperative Teacher who will serve as a mentor. Our first cohort of 16 applicants, five of whom are from our own Day Early Learning centers, began last week. Additionally, we were able to fully scholarship each of the individuals in the first cohort.
We look forward to watching these 16 individuals, as well as all future applicants, thrive within the program.
TRENDING ACROSS OUR DAY EARLY LEARNING CENTERS
Growing Up Great at Patty Jischke
And that’s a wrap! A big thanks to the team at our Patty Jischke Early Care and Education Center for their hospitality and participation in a special event held over the weekend. On Saturday, the center hosted early learning educators and providers from around the state for a day of learning, networking and camaraderie. Special thanks to school leader, Jessica Walters, for her inspiring presentation on early learning environments, and to her amazing teachers and classroom support professionals who provided tours of their spaces and shared their expertise. Thanks also to the PNC Grow Up Great Initiative for making this teacher recognition series possible. This evening we kick off a set of webinars as part of the ongoing series.
