TRENDING ACROSS OUR DAY EARLY LEARNING CENTERS
Auxiliary Volunteers Support EHS
As part of our Early Head Start (EHS) partnership grant, teachers perform home visits for all of our EHS students to share about the child’s education and developmental progress as well as encourage parent-child interactions, activities and learning in the home. During each home visit, families receive an activity kit including a book, manipulatives or toys, and suggested activities. The families and children really like the activity kits – but getting them together is sometimes difficult to arrange. This time, our Day Nursery Auxilary made it easy. With their collective efforts, they assembled 145 kits!
Growing Up Great with PNC
In recognition of PNC Great Month and Grow Up Great initiative, special visitors from PNC visited our centers all throughout the month of April, reading to children and touring spaces. Our thanks to PNC for all of their support and a big thanks to our DEL team members for making PNC feel welcome. To read the full blog click here.
Lilly Family Center's Outdoor Makeover
A group of dedicated volunteers from the Rotary Club of Indianapolis' Environment and Beautification Committee came together for a service project day to enhance the natural playground environment of our Day Early Learning Lilly Family Center. Joining them were volunteers from Early Learning Indiana's statewide team, Day Nursery Auxiliary and students from the University of Indianapolis. We also had team members, friends and families from the center pitch-in. Projects included mulching, weeding, planting - flowers, vegetables, and a new tree - along with installing a new border around a play space and creating a new music wall.
