ELI Town Hall
In today's Town Hall, our team members gave an update on the Early Years Initiative, DEL reset, Early Head Start, upcoming DEL family engagements and presented rewards and recognitions.
As part of the Early Head Start (EHS) program, teachers perform home visits for all of our EHS students to share about the child’s education and developmental progress as well as encourage parent-child interactions, activities and learning in the home. During each home visit, families receive an activity kit including a book, manipulatives or toys and suggested
activities. Our theme for this round of home visits is animals. Check out and share the EHS Amazon Wish List.
A Family-Fun Night
Join us for a night of music and fun for the entire family. Thanks to our partnership with the Indianapolis Public Library, 123 Andrés will be live in concert at Christel House South Academy – where our Day Early Learning at Manual center is also located. All ELI and DEL team members and families are welcome.

Week of the Young Child (WOYC) is an annual celebration of children, their families and the early childhood programs that are critical in their development. We will be celebrating #WOYC23 in our centers and providing opportunities for all families to continue learning objectives at home with our activity kits. Families are also invited to a special reading event at their center in the month of April. Learn more about everything WOYC on our blog.
Fresh Smiles
Is there any better feeling than having clean teeth and fresh breath? Our toddlers are very serious about learning how to brush away germs and make sure their mouths are clean!

This month’s Safety Spotlight will cover several strategies to keep children safe in their environment. It’s crucial to think about these self-reflection questions when caring for children:
How can you ensure you’re always watching and counting children when they’re playing indoors and outdoors?
How do you accommodate individual children’s abilities?
How do you adjust activities to prevent possible injuries?
How often do you communicate with other team members who teach in or support your classroom?
