Last week, ELI announced the Early Years Initiative, a $50 million competitive grant opportunity – generously supported by Lilly Endowment, Inc. – for organizations to help infants and toddlers develop foundational knowledge and skills that support their future learning and development.
We are honored to carry out this very important work statewide. Eligible organizations are invited to propose new, enhanced or expanded programs and projects that influence healthy brain development and the development of physical, social-emotional and cognitive skills in infants and toddlers (children from birth through age three). To learn more about this unprecedented opportunity, visit EarlyYearsInitiative.org or watch the introductory webinar.
March has already been full of opportunities to connect with and learn from communities around the state. First, we co-hosted a panel discussion on Supporting Immigrant Families with Child Care Answers and the Coalition for Our Immigrant Neighbors.
Adrienne Bennett, our VP of early learning practice talked about the importance of early learning and embracing diversity.
We also co-hosted a panel discussion for employers in Rush County who know that access to reliable early learning services is key to economic growth. Our Chief Engagement Officer, Heather Pease discussed the topic alongside a panel of experts from Chances And Services For Youth, First 5 and Rush Memorial Hospital at the Rush County Employer Summit on Child Care Solutions.
Andi Atherine, director of business development, visited our partner Early Childhood Alliance at their IMD Early Learning site in Warsaw to tour their program and learn more about their partnership with Instrumental Machine and Development.
Natalie Brake, VP of community outreach and partnerships, and Robin Bueckers, project coordinator, participated in the Making Early Education Count Workshop in Scottsburg, IN - presented by Align Southern Indiana, INAEYC and SPARK Learning Lab. They shared information about the Early Learning Marketplace with providers, encouraging them to claim their profiles.
If you know of an upcoming event Early Learning Indiana should be a part of, please reach out to Natalie Brake.
