Early Learning Indiana's second-annual Professional Development Day speaker lineup and session topics are really going to elevate the conversation and collaborative learning. Make sure to keep an eye out for Tuesday Newsday as we roll out our speaker lineup.
First, we are honored to have Dr. Nefertiti Poyner (pictured above) kicking off the day with a motivational keynote on Building Your Bounce: Promoting Adult Resilience. Professional Development Day will be on Presidents Day (Feb. 20) at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Noblesville Conference Center. Transportation options will be available and more information will be shared by your school leader this month. We are excited to gather, learn and grow together.

TEAM RESOURCES
Help Keep ELI Safe from Cyber Attacks
Our annual Cyber Security training began on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Each team member must complete the required training to help ensure we remain alert and able to protect ourselves from the latest phishing and scamming tactics. You received an email from KnowBe4 <do-not-reply@training.knowbe4.com> asking you to sign in and complete your training by the date noted in the email. There are two training videos so make sure to complete both. If you did not receive the email or have trouble finding it, please contact Gadellnet.
Day Early Learning Safety Spotlight
Our Safety Spotlight topic this month is food safety. We want to share more important details about safe food practices in centers and beyond. Foods you should avoid include: Whole, raw and pitted fruits, snacks with seeds - like popcorn - tough pieces of meat and fish and raw or hard pieces of vegetables.
Better Your Finances with Betterment
It's the perfect time to take stock (pun intended!) of your finances, and our 401(k) benefit by Betterment can help. Their platform is easy-to-use and provides the guidance you need to make a personalized retirement plan for "future you."
Here are a few money moves to explore:
Claim your account: Haven't logged in yet? We've automatically enrolled everyone to contribute to their 401(k), but you need to claim your account in order to make any changes. Check your inbox for an email from Betterment with "Action Needed" in the subject line, or contact support@betterment.com for help.
Meet our match: Consider contributing enough to your 401(k) to get our 100% match up to 5%. It's like free money! Log in to get started.
Review your contribution rate: 10–15% is recommended by experts. Can't do that much? Even a little bit helps. Learn more about picking your contribution rate and review your rate.
Max it out: If you're able, consider maxing out your 401(k) contributions. The IRS recently raised contribution limits by $2,000, and if you're over 50, your limit was raised by $3,000 (thanks to catch-up contributions).
Learn more, live! Join Betterment's next "Getting Started" webinar for all your 401(k) questions on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 3 pm ET. Register here.
We hope you'll make good use of our 401(k) plan in 2023! Remember, it's never too late—or too early—to start investing.
