AMPed Up PD Day
Our second annual Professional Development Day was phenomenal. Bringing together our teaching teams to collaborate, enhance skills and grow as a learning community was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Click the video above to watch a recap of the day. Thank you to the Gene and Rosemary Tanner Strengthening Teaching Fund and PNC Grow Up Great for helping us better serve Hoosier Families!
TRENDING ACROSS OUR DAY EARLY LEARNING CENTERS
Black History Month Celebrations
In honor of Black History Month, our centers continued highlighting contributions by African Americans. From the inventor of the stop light to the inventor of the super soaker and much more - each classroom found fun and creative ways to learn about our rich history. Take a look at what everyone's been up to.
Click the button below to send us photos so we can highlight what is happening in your center. Prior to sending photos, confirm photo releases for children shown.
Early Learning Indiana has welcomed five new volunteers from the University of Indianapolis. These students have chosen to complete their service-learning hours in our Day Early Learning centers where they interact with young learners while increasing their own knowledge about the importance of early care and education. Depending on their interests and class requirements, students were matched for the semester with a primary center to serve as classroom volunteers for up to eight hours a month.
ELI ACROSS THE STATE
Leading Child Care Access Discussions Statewide
Employers in Tipton County know that access to reliable early learning services is key to economic growth. Our Chief of Staff, Jonathan Dilley, was proud to present alongside a panel of experts from
The Child Care Resource Network, ABC & Me Early Learning Academy, Park 100 Foods and the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning for a robust discussion and Q&A. ELI will continue supporting the Child Care Resource and Referral Network in co-hosting and participating in upcoming panel discussions in Rush County, Orange County and Marion County.
TEAM RESOURCES
Safety Spotlight
During February, our Safety Spotlight topic is DEL Family Hub. It’s important to keep track of a child’s attendance using the DEL Family Hub app. Team members must make sure that families remember to check in and check out their child. This allows classrooms to have an accurate attendance count.
A Night of Calm Sleep
Not getting enough sleep can affect your physical and mental health, and how you are showing up professionally and personally in your life. The Calm app can help you build better sleep habits with these recommendations from their sleep categories:
Narrated by Game of Thrones actor and mindfulness advocate, Jerome Flynn, this Softly Back to Sleep Series 50-minute series can help you ease back into sleep.
Try one of the most popular soundscapes, Rain on Leaves, as you drift off to sleep tonight.
Join one of the Calm App Webinars to learn how to get the most out of your Calm experience and bolster your overall well-being.
