We're excited for you to see how we we are stepping up our recruitment efforts showcasing our incredible talent... YOU!
Our marketing team visited some of our centers to ask teachers what makes the DEL Difference, and you did not disappoint. Watch Kayliegh, infant teacher at State Government Building tell us her "why." Keep an eye out for Tuesday Newsday and your social media accounts for our new recruitment series.
ELI ACROSS THE STATE
Lewis Cass Schools Then & Now
For a “throwback Thursday” trip, Maureen Weber, Erin Kissling and Natalie Brake visited Lewis Cass Schools – the same program that Maureen visited five years ago as one of her first partner visits with Early Learning Indiana. Initial funding from ELI in 2018 through a capacity-building grant supported the creation of Little Kings preschool. Since then, the program has participated in a quality study with ELI and received an additional Closing the Gap grant to add on infant and toddler rooms. They now provide care for children ages six weeks through 12 years old.
Grow Wabash County
at ELI
While usually it’s our team traveling to meet partners, we also love to invite partners to visit us. Sarah Delgadillo from Grow Wabash County recently stopped by our statewide office for a conversation about current challenges and opportunities to support access to high-quality early care and learning.
TRENDING ACROSS OUR DAY EARLY LEARNING CENTERS
Volunteers Needed at
Lilly Family Center
Roll up your sleeves for a day of outdoor cleanup, gardening and other playground enhancements at Day Early Learning Lilly Family Center! A group of dedicated volunteers from the Rotary Club of Indianapolis' beautification and environment
committee are coming together on Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. to make a meaningful difference for the outdoor play space. We are looking for 10 more volunteers to join in. If you are interested or know anyone who can help, please sign up here.
Fue Muy Divertido!
Fue muy divertido cantar y bailar con 123 Andrés! It was so fun singing and dancing with 123 Andrés! Thanks to the Indianapolis Public Library we were able to co-host a bilingual concert at Christel House. Our ELI and DEL families enjoyed singing, dancing and learning about musical instruments from around the world.
Week of the Young Child Wrap Up
Week of the Young Child (WOYC) was a blast for the children at our centers! The students enjoyed decorating their own version of Box, eating new and yummy foods, going on a scavenger hunt, doing various crafts and many more fun activities with their loved ones, and a reading of "Grace and Box" by author Kim Howard. We are thankful for all of our ELI and DEL team members and friends who helped make WOYC such a special and successful week for every child involved! Be sure to check out the blog to see all the fun and stay tuned for additional author reading events scheduled this month.
PNC Great Month
In recognition of PNC Great Month and Grow Up Great initiative, special visitors from PNC are visiting our centers all throughout the month of April, reading to children and touring spaces. Jason Eckerle, regional president, central & southern Indiana, PNC Bank, helped us kick things off by visiting our Day Early Learning Lilly Family Center and reading to a group of very interested students. Our thanks to PNC for all of their support, and thank you to all the DEL team members who are making our guests feel so welcome!
