DayofImpact23

Making it Possible

On Friday, Sept. 22, we will celebrate our fifth annual Day of Impact. This year, the goal is to raise enough charitable support to fund a full year of educational supplies for Day Early Learning classrooms. Items such as glue, crayons, colored pencils, construction paper and paint while individually seeming small, have a big impact. We’d love your help in making big learning moments possible. You can donate, volunteer or encourage a company or business to become a sponsor.

  • Earn professional development hours toward Paths to QUALITY™ and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

  • Receive up to $600 in gift cards to Lakeshore Learning

Replacing the

Birthday Suits

For a time, there was a plight of unclothed baby dolls across our Day Early Learning classrooms. When a call to action for more doll clothes was issued, the Day Nursery Auxiliary responded in a big way. Auxiliary members Mona Stephens (pictured at left) and Linda Theobald dusted off their sewing machines and got to work. Over this past winter, Mona and Linda created 88 expertly crafted doll outfits. Not only are the outfits lovely, they also help our young children work on their fine motor skills when dressing and undressing the dolls. Be sure to learn more about the Day Nursery Auxiliary and its longstanding friendship with Early Learning Indiana.

Transforming Communities

It was a pleasure to welcome Project Transformation Indiana interns to our statewide office. During their time with us, they learned about and embraced our mission, while diligently assembling an impressive total of 215 Early Years Resource Kits. These kits will empower families to support their little ones in reaching important developmental milestones. Their time and dedication will significantly impact the growth and development of our youngest Hoosiers. To learn more about our volunteer opportunities, click here.

Advocating Babies

One of our Day Early Learning and Early Head Start families recently attended ZERO TO THREE's national Strolling Thunder event. Alongside babies and families representing all 50 states, they gathered in Washington, D.C. to engage with Members of Congress. Their aim was to advocate for policies that prioritize early childhood development and remind our policymakers to "Think Babies." This event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in our youngest constituents and ensuring a bright future for every child.
